Leading the transformation to sustainable urban logistics
Volta Trucks
We are a full-electric commercial vehicle manufacturer and services company. We offer next-generation, design-led products, and services, which aim to accelerate the transition to electric, whilst reducing the risk and complexity of electrification for our customers.
Our launch product the ‘Volta Zero’ is the world’s first purpose-built full-electric 16-tonne vehicle designed for urban logistics, reducing the environmental impact of freight deliveries in city centres. Our Head Office is in Stockholm, Sweden, with engineering led from the UK, and contract manufacturing facility in Steyr, Austria. We have sales teams across France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, and the UK. We partner with a number of global leaders in the supply chain for the development and production of the Volta Zero.
Designed from the ground up with an operating pure-electric range of 150 – 200 kilometres, the Volta Zero will eliminate an estimated 1.2M tonnes of CO2 by 2025.
The prototype Volta Zero was launched in September 2020, and our first customers have been evaluating and testing the vehicle since mid-2022.

Market Position
The commercial vehicle sector offers significant opportunity for accelerated fleet electrification.
This is particularly apparent in the medium-duty segment in which we operate (7.5 tonne to 18 tonne), with a sizable addressable market seeking a solution for safer, zero-emission urban distribution. There is strong commercial and regulatory interest in shifting fleets to full-electric models at pace, which is supported by attractive Total Cost of Ownership economics.
In November 2021, Volta Trucks announced Europe’s largest purchase of full-electric trucks with DB Schenker’s pre-order of 1,470 vehicles. This followed Petit Forestier’s pre-order of 1,000 Volta Zeros.
