Guillaume David, TaaS Business Development Executive “Connecting passionate people from around the globe”

By Volta Trucks

Guillaume David joined the team in June 2020 when there were just a dozen people in the company. Guillaume works on the delivery of our Truck as a Service (TaaS) proposition. This includes defining what TaaS includes and how we deliver it to the customer. In this blog post, he reflects on his time at Volta Trucks so far.

In your own words, what does Volta Trucks mean to you?

Trucks and logistics, made desirable.

What was your first week like at Volta Trucks?

I joined in June 2020, which was right after the first lockdown, so I spent a lot of time on Zoom during my first week.

At the time, there were less than a dozen people in the business, and we were based in three or four different countries. Therefore, Zoom was the best and only way to meet one another as the company didn’t yet have offices.

That’s one of the things I enjoy most about Volta Trucks, it connects very passionate people from all different places.

When I look back at that week now, I am pleased to see that Volta has managed to keep remote working in its DNA, allowing more talent and diversity into the team.

What’s different about working in a start-up?

It doesn’t have any legacy, or any set of rules that have been inherited from years or decades of existence. Working at Volta Trucks involves shaping the culture of the business and defining its norms and behaviours.

What has been your biggest discovery or realisation since working at Volta Trucks?

My biggest discovery has been that there is no goal too ambitious.

What matters is how much energy and passion you’re willing to commit to that goal.

Why do you care if Volta Trucks reaches our mission to make cities safer and more sustainable?

Living in harmony with our environment is so deeply rooted in our human nature that I think the real question is: why wouldn’t anyone care?
