Volta Trucks announces two Certified Service Partners for Sweden

 Certified Service Partners to provide comprehensive geographic service and maintenance coverage

 Shift Electric Mobility and STS Sydhamnens Trailer Service to support Volta Trucks customers as part of the company’s Truck as a Service offering

Volta Trucks, the leading and disruptive all-electric commercial vehicle manufacturer and services provider, has announced the appointment of STS and Shift Electric Mobility as its Certified Service Partners for the Swedish market.

Following Volta Trucks’ announcement that it has accelerated the market launch plans for Sweden, which will now see trucks on the road in Sweden in mid-2023, the announcement of two key Certified Service Partners for the region is a vital enabler in supporting future customers in the region with Service and Maintenance requirements.

Shift Electric Mobility is one of the Nordics’ leading commercial electric vehicle specialists, focusing on electric mobility aftermarket services. Founded in 2018, Shift Electric Mobility’s highly trained technicians only work on high-voltage and battery-driven vehicles and offer fleet technical support, spare parts distribution, safety training and EV education.

STS is one of the largest nationwide commercial vehicle repair and maintenance chains in Scandinavia and celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2023. STS currently has 13 workshops from Malmö in the south to Luleå in the north and provides a comprehensive range of services for heavy trucks and trailers, calibration of tachographs and alcohol locks, damage repair, wheel and axle measurement and alignment, and the repair and servicing of tail lifts. STS has worked with battery-driven trucks and transport vans for more than 5 years.

Certified Service Partners will play a major role in the Volta Trucks’ Truck as a Service (TaaS) offering. Designed as a frictionless way to migrate fleets of all sizes to electric, maximising their uptime and operational efficiency, the TaaS proposition revolutionises the ownership, servicing, financing, and management of commercial vehicle fleets.

Casper Norden, Chief Fleet Solutions Officer at Volta Trucks commented

“We are delighted to announce our Certified Service partners for Sweden, following our market launch acceleration in the region. Certified Service Partners are an integral part of our strategy for servicing and maintenance, which is a foundation stone of our Truck as a Service offering. Working together with our partners, we’re providing customers with a comprehensive solution and ongoing confidence in their Volta Zero’s longevity and vehicle uptime.”

Thomas Sabathier, CEO at Shift Electric Mobility said;

“We are thrilled to be appointed as Service Partner in the region. The announcement of the partnership with Volta Trucks marks a true milestone for us at Shift as we are expanding our focus on Trucks. For us, it is an honour to put the experience we have gained in the last 5 years supporting complex electric fleets and that the partnership brings us closer to a pillar of the independent aftermarkets in the region. This reinforces our true belief in our market position as an electric commercial vehicle specialist and are happy to be able to deliver a complete aftermarket solution together to Volta Trucks.”

Stefan Klingberg, Managing Director at STS Sydhamnens Trailer Service, said;

“I’m thrilled and excited that STS will play a key role as a partner to Volta Trucks on this exciting journey towards decarbonising the city centres. This cooperation is perfectly in line with our, long-term strategic decision to invest in the electrification of our industry and to be an active player in driving the shift towards sustainable transport solutions.”

 Ends.

Notes to Editor

 The Volta Zero is the world’s first purpose-built all-electric 16-tonne vehicle designed for urban logistics, reducing the environmental impact of freight deliveries in city centres. The Volta Zero is designed from the ground up with an operating pure-electric range of 150 – 200 kms (95 – 125 miles).

Safety is also at the heart of Volta Trucks, with the ambition to produce the safest trucks for our cities. The Volta Zero was designed for electric from the outset, which facilitates a step-change in vehicle, driver and pedestrian safety. Thanks to the removal of the internal combustion engine, the operator of a Volta Zero sits in a central driving position, with a much lower seat height than a conventional truck. This combination, plus a glass house-style cab design, gives the driver a wide 220-degrees of visibility, minimising dangerous blind spots.

Volta Trucks is also innovating with its Truck as a Service proposition that has revolutionised the financing and servicing of commercial vehicle fleets. Truck as a Service offers fleet managers a frictionless and hassle-free way to electrify their fleet by offering an all-inclusive service for a single, affordable, monthly fee. It provides access to an all-electric Volta Zero, with its charging infrastructure needs provided by world-leader Siemens, insurance through Europe’s premier insurtech broker, Qover, and servicing, maintenance, and training requirements, maximising the uptime and operational efficiency of the vehicle.
